Our technology is based on three decades of having to produce results in a variety of harsh circumstances, including money issues, time constraints, and bloated requirements. Our proven approaches can be characterized by a dramatic increase in company productivity, reduction in cost, and at the same time an increase in employee motivation and quality of life. From this research and to more easily demonstrate the value management received from valuing their workforce, the company developed products in the form of very comprehensive suite of templates, macros and metrics that uses your existing office desktop software. This gives you desktop software the unique ability to help you more easily solve business problems faced daily, including issues in project and operations management planning, tracking, analysis and problem solving.

 

CT sells our products directly to organizations or to people-focused consulting or coaching firms as Value Added Resellers (VARs). These firms use these metrics and automation to support their clients transition to improved business habits to create success. Our technology helps VARs measurably quantify the value they bring to the customer by (1) showing customer ROI before work begins and (2) ensuring required work is performed with maximum capability and motivation alignment of the workforce.

 

Evolved Capability

 

The original company was founded in 1987 to support the U.S. government with research and development for space technology. The company evolved, the name has changed, but our goals have remained - develop metrically based people-focused business solutions. Since that time, our clients have ranged from Department of Defense (DoD) mission-critical programs, with budgets so large that they're reviewed as separate line items for Congress, to start-up Internet companies competing with infamous "P2P" movie and audio file sharing web dot-com's.

 

In response to our clients’ business challenges involved with improving customer satisfaction, quality, time-to-market and process costs, we seamlessly incorporated industry best practices within our templates, macros and metric. (See bottom of page for list.)

Our thirty years of original, industry leading management products started with a two-year informal study by Bruce Nagy, the founder of Catalyst Technologies. While living in Japan, Bruce took advantage of a unique opportunity to study how “Kaizen” could be better applied to US business environments. “Kaizen” is a “change for the better” philosophy. This research, combined with a Department of Defense opportunity, ignited Bruce into his own 30 year “Kaizen.” His studies evolved into understanding the affects childhood conditioning had on business change, quality and success. Patterns emerged, becoming the keys to 18 “out-of-the-box” products, supporting a now refined and proven “Workforce Alignment to Business Expectations” algorithm technology.

Thirty years of accumulated research experience, divided into 3 stages, paved the way to create unprecedented management products. The first stage lasted for 10 years and started with the development of several groundbreaking, “out-of-the-box” products. Our first was a physical 3-D planning suite of building blocks, with over 3000 pieces. It allowed teams to plan and rehearse excellence. Also, we wrote a pair of prose and poetry books to support a unique team building approach involving perception and communication. Since clients expressed feelings of being victimized by changes to scope, we created a 3-panel project management game board with over 100 pieces to teach teams how to overcome and adapt. These innovations were the building blocks to additional technology we would create in the following two stages. DoD was our main sponsor of this first stage of research.

Because of the “seemingly impossible” results achieved by teams using our very unique product solutions, academia got interested. This started the second stage of our research which took another 8 years. The collaboration focused on applying conditional probabilities and confidence factors to the advanced algorithms we were creating. Then, software was developed using our special predicate calculus to create a first-of-its-kind “Workforce Alignment to Business Expectations” math construct. Based on  this construct alone, we generated over 1000 software business rules. Pinpoint accuracy, speed of forecasting, and root-core mitigation were achieved goals. Project Management Institute showcased four of our articles describing these solutions.

In the last stage, we encapsulated the past twenty years of breakthroughs into our now refined “Workforce Alignment to Business Expectations” technology. In a ten year period, our innovation focused on developing “smart template” “plug-ins” to more easily deliver and use the technology. This last stage was focused on economics, speed and ease-of-use.

Up to three teams per year from various business environments, including project, operations and manufacturing, used our first-of-its-kind, unique management products to create unprecedented results (see below) over this thirty year period. It took our staff eighteen creative innovations, learning from observations and refinements, to produce the “Workforce Alignment to Business Expectations” technology in an easy, cost effective form.

National Security

 

In 1986, the company founder and principal inventor of the people focused leadership technology, Mr. Bruce Nagy, was directed to recover a congressionally visible program associated with software and hardware throughput performance. Numerous previous solutions and methodologies had failed to make any headway in solving this very serious issue.

 

Using the same set of people assigned to the program who had failed to identify a solution over the previous 6 months, Mr. Nagy, in one afternoon, was able to map out the plan that would eventually resolve their organizational and technical issues within one year. In one year, throughput performance went from 1000 hours to 120 hours. These results surprised and even shocked people involved. Mr. Nagy had saved the program from harsh Congressional criticism and a severe national security vulnerability. What was considered impossible to do by the program's brightest team of scientists and engineers, could now be done, and it could be done on time and within budget.

 

Was it an aberration? Mr. Nagy was asked to help recover another failed project sponsored by the government. In this case, Mr. Nagy was provided an inexperienced team, and still they solved the problem and achieved the goals in less time than the most senior people concurrently working on the issue. The senior engineers didn't want anything to do with the inexperienced outsiders because they thought it was a waste of time. Normally, that would have been true. How surprised they were to validate the accuracy of the answers identified by Mr. Nagy's inexperienced team 6 months later.

 

Why could Mr. Nagy recover these programs using the same employees or at times, inexperienced teams, and still get the results, when there had been so many previously failed attempts? Over time, he realized that his actions had some common elements that led to a business science breakthrough involving leadership and SOUL.
